While gastronomy can be described as intangible heritage, it is also closely linked to women and men who value local natural resources
Local cuisine

- The Roussin de la Hague : this is a local sheep breed, with a brown head and light wool, adapted to rain and wind, and which thrives on pasture. It is the result of a cross between local breeds and English breeds. Every year, on the first weekend of August, during the sheep festival in Jobourg, you can taste its meat, as you can every Sunday or holiday during the warmer months, thanks to local roasters.
- Dairy products: La Hague is a land of livestock farming, particularly dairy farming. Among the traditional dishes is rice pudding, baked until golden brown.
- The Grévillais: This caramelized puff pastry filled with apples is produced exclusively by the bakery in Gréville-Hague. It is very popular with the inhabitants of La Hague, who often enjoy it as a celebration cake.
- Buckwheat Porridge: Once very common in Normandy, buckwheat is eaten as a porridge, a mixture of buckwheat flour and whole milk, cooked slowly in a copper pan and stirred throughout. The leftovers, having hardened the next day, are traditionally sliced and pan-fried in butter to be eaten as pancakes. Sprinkled with a little sugar, they are a delight.
- The Blue Lobster : Recognized by the Michelin guide and in the ranking of French excellence, the blue lobster from Cotentin, finer and tastier than others, has benefited since 2011 from the global MSC-sustainable fishing label, distinguishing fishing that respects the species, the environment and the ecosystem.
