2.1 billion years of history
Because it holds within it the archives of nearly half of Earth's history and an exceptional heritage, particularly in terms of its landscapes, La Hague aspires to the UNESCO Global Geopark and Grand Site de France labels. These two projects reflect a commitment to preserving these riches and sharing their values with residents and visitors.

Geological history
Despite being a tiny territory of barely 150 km², La Hague is home to an exceptional geological heritage. It allows visitors to delve into the history of the Earth, observe the oldest rocks in mainland France, and recount half of our planet's history.

The riches of the territory
The heritage of La Hague is multifaceted. Considered to be of general interest to the Nation, the landscapes and part of the natural areas there have been protected.

Labels
The UNESCO Global Geoparc label recognizes a territory with an exceptional geological heritage which carries out an animation and enhancement work of all of its heritage (natural, cultural and immaterial) with an objective of both environmental education and sustainable development.

The life of labels
Bringing together all local players, the institutional steering committee, chaired by the mayor of the Hague and the prefect of the Channel, is the place of exchange and debates, which makes it possible to ensure compliance with the objectives and the strategy defined for the two Grand Site and Geoparc projects and to follow the progress of their respective action program.

Tourp
In an exceptional setting, surrounded by unspoiled nature, the Manoir du Tourp is the ideal place to discover the Hague Geopark. Providing the keys to understanding the territory, welcoming and guiding visitors on their exploration of La Hague – these are the missions of Le Tourp.
