The Calvary of the Dunes
The panoramic view from the Calvary of the Dunes in Biville makes it possible to observe the landscape generated by the Siouville syncline and its relationship with the Anse de Vauville.

The Siouville synclinal is a large structure reaching almost 20 km wide between the ends of its flanks. It is limited to the north by the Icartian and cadomian rocks of the Jobourg nose region, and to the south by the Varisque granite of Flamanville. These rocks are relatively more resistant to erosion than the heart of the syncline, dominated by sandstones and shales. It is therefore in these latter rocks, more tender than quaternary erosion sculpted the Anse de Vauville.
