The frieze of geological times

To discover along the "Tourp walk", this 90 -meter long frieze, offers you a journey through time, from the birth of the earth, there are 4.6 billion years ago, without a change of scale for more pedagogy. Along this chronological frieze, the history of the Hague is present in 2.1 billion years, that is to say for almost half of the age of our planet. Samples of local rocks, among the oldest in France are presented there and the interventions of a learned and facetious goubelin punctuate the story of anecdotes and information.

At the end of the frieze, a zoom is offered on the current period of the quaternary which saw important geomorphological events which impacted our landscapes and also the appearance of man. which arrives in the very last centimeters.
