Cape Hague
The foreshore near the La Hague semaphore station allows observation of two types of veins injected into the Cadomian granite of Auderville:
- Dolerite veins (dark-colored rock) to the east,
- Veins of lamprophyre (brownish tint) to the west.
The dolerite veins are attributed to the beginning of the Hercynian orogeny, while the lamprophyre veins are more closely linked to the collapse of the Hercynian orogeny. It is relatively rare to find these two types of veins separated by only a few hundred meters, which gives this site national significance for the history of the Hercynian orogeny.

Nearby, you can also observe the common ringed plover, a threatened and protected bird species whose eggs resemble small pebbles. From April to July, during the nesting season, walking on the pebbles is strongly discouraged.
