Inauguration of two new exhibitions at the Tourp

April 7, 2026

Friday, April 4th, was a big day for Le Tourp, the Hague Nature Reserve, which inaugurated two new temporary exhibitions. The first, "Secret Dunes: Natural Treasures of the Vauville Reserve," is an outdoor display that invites visitors to explore the extraordinary biodiversity of the Vauville pond. On the 40 panels, magnificent photographs of flora and fauna, accompanied by informative texts, invite you to discover the little-known and surprising world of the dune and pond's inhabitants, from insects and amphibians to birds and plants. This exhibition is part of the 50th anniversary celebrations of the nature reserve. In fact, Marie-Léa Travert, the curator of the Vauville pond, is the author of most of the photographs and texts presented in the exhibition. On Friday evening, many environmental professionals were present for the opening.

The other highlight of the evening was the opening of the exhibition "The Fascinating World of Fossils," presented in partnership with the Ammonite 50 association. This exhibition also celebrates the natural world, but from a different era, as it features animals that existed millions of years ago! During these ancient times, the oceans were home to numerous species that are now extinct, but some of which left behind traces. These fossils, precious remnants of this past life, are presented in the exhibition. The opening took place in the presence of Paul Jean, president of the Ammonite 50 association and a tireless collector, who graciously agreed to lend the finest pieces from his collection to Le Tourp for the occasion.

The exhibition "The Fascinating World of Fossils" will be on display until January 3, 2027. Meanwhile, "Secret Dunes" will be visible until November 1st, in a field next to the Tourp. Admission to both exhibitions is free.
