La Hague Geopark supports research activities carried out on its territory

April 1, 2026
Geoparc - La Hague - Falaise

Launch of the first 2026 grant campaign for research projects

The municipality of La Hague, which is leading the La Hague Geopark project, is establishing a grant program for scientific institutions wishing to conduct research projects within its territory. The research project must aim to utilize the geological and geomorphological heritage, a testament to our planet's history, in conjunction with all other aspects of the territory's natural, cultural, and intangible heritage. This will allow us to both understand the Earth's long evolution and better grasp the balance of our current ecosystem, as well as raise awareness and understanding of key issues facing society, such as the sustainable use of our planet's resources, mitigating the effects of climate change, and reducing the risks associated with natural disasters. Aspiring to become a UNESCO Global Geopark and committed to the Grand Site de France designation, the municipality of La Hague also seeks to understand the spatial, social, and natural dynamics that have shaped human settlements and to better grasp the future of its territory, which it intends to develop sustainably and in a way that preserves the planet.

The campaign is open until noon on April 30th.
